JavaScript WTF!? is a leisure coding-class for those who want an introduction and prefer humans to online-classes. Using real-life examples and props, we want you to have fun while getting smarter.

Week 01

Introduction

You will be able to understand JavaScript’s role in the bigger context of web development and how it works alongside HTML and CSS when rendering a website.

About

Stalk the teacher

Valerie has been working as full-time developer at Your Majesty for 2.5 years. Most days she is involved in projects built with JavaScript, React and Node.js. Your Majesty is a full-service design and technology firm that creates digital experiences for clients such as LA Lakers, AirBnB and Facebook.

Being a self-taught developer Valerie enjoys sharing her knowledge and helping other code-enthusiasts on their learning journey. In 2017 she launched Cafe Robot, the first non-awkward Computer Club. Cafe Robot is aimed at code-newbies in Amsterdam and offers a platform to learn coding and enter the industry.

Valerie has also been a speaker for Awwwards, Ladies Wine & Design and more, as well as an Industry Mentor for creative business school Hyper Island.
